Do you have an employee experiencing back pain and need assistance in setting up their work area? Do you have employees with jobs that require repetitive motion and want to explore ways to alleviate potential injury?

If so, technology can be used to diminish or eliminate barriers to employment. Assistive technology can also be used to assist people with obtaining, retaining, or regaining competitive employment. People want meaningful employment; employers want effective workers.

The Solution Outreach Center at OCCK provides business consultation to assist businesses with:

  • Job modifications for an individual returning to work following an injury or a current employee experiencing difficulty at their desk.
  • Assists employers with developing accommodations to assist employees with disabilities to enhance job performance or prevent injuries.
  • Provide information on tax incentives offered by the Federal Government and the State of Kansas for providing assistive technology and modifications to make businesses more accessible to people with disabilities.

The modifications could be as simple as a different keyboard, repositioning the items on the work surface, or different seating. We are available to answer your questions.
