The Solution Outreach Center at OCCK has assistive technology labs located in Abilene, Beloit, Concordia and Salina to promote hands-on learning and finding the device that works best for you. Our labs offer interactive activities to familiarize people of all ages with many of the hardware and software applications available as well as adaptive equipment to support using your computer.
Assistive technology labs are available to individuals and their family members, as well as advocates, employers, and educators. Staff are available to explain the function of the device and instruction in its use. There are opportunities at each lab for you to use or try a number of devices so you are able to determine the most appropriate device to meet your needs. Staff can provide you with information on funding, and assistive technology vendors to assist you with acquiring assistive technology devices.
