Mission Statement

All people have the right to make their own decisions and exercise control over their own lives. People have the right to pursue success and take risks.

Independent Connection is a Center for Independent Living (CIL). It is a non-residential, community-based organization that is staffed by people with disabilities. They operate under the philosophy of consumer control. CIL’s, through their staff, address discrimination and barriers in the community.

Independent Living Specialists at Independent Connection work not only with individuals of all ages and all disabilities, but also with their communities to locate services and eliminate physical and philosophical barriers so that living independently is a reality for all people. Staff provides information and support to businesses, schools, and government services as they develop communities accessible to everyone.
