InMyHome Home Care, a division of OCCK, Inc., is integrating a new comprehensive telehealth solution for high-risk patients in their fifteen county service area in north central Kansas.

With the recent social distancing requirements, additional services and solutions are needed to serve Home Care clients, making health care more accessible for people who live in rural or isolated communities, as well as making Home Care services more readily available and convenient for people with limited mobility, time or transportation. Telehealth has also been proven to decrease or alleviate frequent re-hospitalizations for patients.

Telehealth is the use of digital information and communication devices, such as computers and tablets, to access health care services remotely and to manage health care. This new system is easy to use and allows qualified patients to take their own vital signs daily. It also provides education to patients on their conditions and medications, gives reminders about taking medications, and asks survey questions about how they are feeling at that time. The data received allows InMyHome clinicians to monitor, triage, and care for patients with alerts and quick responses in real time through video, phone, or text chat.

InMyHome works to engage and empower patients to become or remain active in their health with condition-specific education, symptom surveys, and constant communication between the patient, their providers, and their caregivers. Building this innovative telehealth care program allows InMyHome and OCCK to further their mission of fulfilling individual needs in rural communities in north central Kansas, with the goals of helping people stay healthy and out of hospitals.

Telehealth is a covered service for Medicaid recipients. Private pay options are also available.
