Telecommunications Access Program (TAP)

Do you find it difficult to hear on the telephone?

Is it hard to see the numbers?

Do you have difficulty pushing numbers on the keypad?

If so, the Telecommunication Access Program (TAP) is for you!

There is no cost for the equipment! The purpose of TAP is to provide specialized equipment to Kansans with needs in order to access basic home telephone services. If you have a hearing, vision, speech, cognitive or mobility disability or impairment, or a combination of these disabilities/impairments, you can apply and receive equipment if you meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have residency in the State of Kansas
  • Have telephone service in your home/residence
  • Have a need for a specialized telephone
  • Have a household gross income of less that $55,000 per year ($3,000 may be added for each dependent claimed).

Come to the Solution Outreach Center at OCCK to try out all the phones available or call us to set a time to bring the phones to you!
