Technology Resource Solutions for People (TRSP)
MISSION
Develop and implement customer directed services utilizing technology to enhance opportunities for persons of all ages with any disability to gain independence and pursue opportunities as they choose.
What is Assistive Technology?
Everyone's life includes technology - like the remote control to operate your TV or stereo, your cordless phone, using your computer mouse and keyboard to browse the Internet and order pizza for supper.
Assitive technology to accomplish the same
activities could include a telephone operated by your voice, browsing the
Internet by moving your head, or ordering pizza through a device that speaks for
you. Assitive technology is an item, a piece of equipment or a
product used to maintain and/or improve the capabilities of individuals who have
disabilities. Technology can be used to diminish or eliminate barriers for
people with disabilities.
All of us will need assistive technology in our lifetime as a result of an
injury, illness or just as part of the aging process. Technology has
transformed the way we learn, the way we do business, the way we enjoy our
leisure time, and the way we live.
